This intensive induction programme lasts from Monday – Friday: 09.00 – 17.00 hours.

Welcome and Introductions
Introduction to working in CAMHS – Core skills required in working with young people; Communication Skills
Adolescent development
Understanding Addictions
Addictions continued
Introduction to mental health

Day 2
Safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults including maintaining therapeutic relationships / boundaries (including relational security) at level 3 (this is a longer course but recommended for all mental health staff).
Day 3
Patient safety – risk management and suicide prevention
Observation policy
Information governance (including defensible documentation, confidentiality and care planning)
