About The Course
An initial two day higher level safeguarding course which forms part of the basis of an eight day programme of safeguarding training to meet core requirements of The Intercollegiate Documents Roles and Competencies for Health Care Staff.
It also meets the requirements for higher level safeguarding within social care, education, local authorities and the third sector.
Who Should Attend?
The course is for Senior Safeguarding Leads and Senior Managers including Director of Nursing, Clinical Directors and Senior Managers in other sectors including; education, third sector organisations and social care.
Course Overview
Day One
Overview of Level 5 competencies and how these might apply in practice
Introduction to their leadership role in safeguarding along with teamworking and networking, linked with advanced awareness of different specialties andprofessional roles
Legislation to cover both national and international influences
Policy development –linked to what would make it robust and development of local policy
Day Two
Training needs analysis to focus on delivering on policy and procedure and evidence base to CCG’s and NHSETo include an advanced understanding ofcurriculum and training.
Strategic presentations focusing on to Board/CCG/CQC/NHSE
Quality assurance processes linked to monitoring of services across healthcare through audit/Clinical Governance and dealing with the Media
